Myspace is a popular social networking system. This website allows user to set up an account and create a profile. From here they can find friends or old classmates. It allows users to post information or short blogs. They may also upload pictures, videos or music. Aside from personal accounts, Myspace is used by businesses, corporations and artists to reach new audiences.

  1. I love Myspace and think it is one of the best sites out here to keep in touch with friends! I have met back up with so many people that I lost contact with after high school through Myspace. It is also really great because it is a place where new artists can promote their music and let people hear them for the first time! I also love how you have the privacy of making your page private or not private which is really great for safety concerns!

  2. Living in a time where the computer is the highest level of communication, then myspace is a great way of communication if used properly. It allows the option to find old friends and even family and classmates. The way one can express themselves on myspace is an art in itself. It is a great way of promotion and networking for you in anything one might do. One might challenge this is the reason society has lost intimate contact with each other because all one needs to do is sign on to someone’s account and there is their life story! On the other hand, I do feel society has lost a sense of privacy due to sites such as myspace! One must truly be careful on it, because it can always come back and haunt the user! I know of two situations that myspace has hurt the well-being of someone. Someone was denied entry to an ivy-league school due to the fact of pictures placed on myspace showing under aged drinking and the schools reason was that they do not tolerate such behavior! Another is someone posted they hated their job; well needless to say the boss did not want them hating it anymore and let them go! Once again, if used for appropriate reasons it is a great way of communication in a time when our lives are spent on the computer anyway!
